Studio Assistants

My studio assistants are logging more hours now that school is out for summer. I do think the boys (sorta pictured above) had a good time moving the fabrics around and helping me make the quilt squares/blocks/top. I presented it to them like solving a puzzle, which to a 7yo and 4yo is WAY more cool than making a pink girly quilt. In the photo above they are admiring their handiwork. The In The Nest color way for the Baby's Boxes quilt pattern is coming along nicely. In fact, the whole top is finished and I need to get on with the quilting. Kreinik white shimmery quilting thread, of course! Hopefully I'll have photos for you soon.

It's amazing how you can get cooperation if you approach a task correctly. I helped a middle school Sunday School class put together a quilt to raffle. We had the boys approach it like an architecture problem when it came to laying out the blocks. TOTAL cooperation!
