Center Applied Zippers

I don't mind zippers. I think they are fun and easy to work with. The biggest hang-up for me, with a zipper, is misjudging the length and sewing over that little metal stopper at the end of the zipper, which as you know, will break a needle. Other than that- I think they're great.

I was recently asked to do a zipper workshop with some of the ladies here, and it went famously. The one friend posted her pillows a couple weeks ago. She's doing her daughter's room in Sandi Henderson's Ginger Blossom and actually has also made 2 duvets using the center applied zipper technique. I can't wait to see those!

Another friend worked on her pillows, using the center applied zipper yesterday. Boy she was a happy camper at the end of that afternoon! She made a total of 7 pillows and two duvets. (The duvets were done on last week's sew-day.) She's got plans for one more duvet and a couple more throw pillows. She also let me take her picture for my ReannaLily Designs website.

Once you embrace zippers, the whole world of home dec opens up. Thats not even the tip of the iceberg when you consider skirts and dresses... but that will be for another day. ~jen~
