The Cat Quilt

This innovative little number is straight from my 10 year old daughter and my thousand year old sewing machine.

Its a cat quilt. My daughter used scraps, which had been cut into 5" squares using my Accuquilt GO! and planned this whole quilt herself. The cat quilt was designed to go into a cat bed in her room.

She really wanted to try free-motion quilting, which kinda freaked me out- but after the whole "careful not to sew through your fingers" talk, I think she was ready to roll on my Elna + extension table.

She told me she had to use red thread because she really wanted to see it. I'm learning alot.

After our trip to TX, her grandmother set her up with a few fat quarters and a rotary cutter. I think this is officially the start of her stash.

Oh goodness....

FAbulous! My 5 year old granddaughter learned how to iron and how to use the rotary cutter (with assistance) last night. I'm afraid to let her use the sewing machine. But I think I was using my mother's machine when I was 5 or 6.
