MQS 2010 Overland Park KS

Best In Show by Linda French
((the blue-green circles in the picture are about 1/2'' in real life))

I was lucky enough to get to steal away from the computer and packing, to drive over to Overland Park KS to see the Machine Quilters Showcase show. WOW.

I'd say *technically* I'm a machine quilter, because I rarely quilt anything by hand. After seeing the showcase, though, I'd say that I'm not a machine quilter. I have SO much to learn. These quilts were unreal.

Some of them were whole cloth or trapunto, to really feature the machine quilting. Some were quilted and then painted/colored. Some were pieced, some appliqued. All were amazing. I don't want to post too many pictures here on the blog because I do not have all the names of the artists who created the pieces.

I did grab a bunch of photos, though, so I can study them and see how to improve my own quilting style. ~~Hopefully, translating the longarm techniques to a home sewing machine.

Next up- Spring Quilt Market Minneapolis 2010!
